Trinity Guild appoint Chris Shipway as new Head Coach.

We are excited to announce that we have been able to secure the services of Chris Shipway as Head Coach.

The former Moseley and Worcester Academy product, Chris brings with him many years of senior rugby experience having played Championship and National League rugby for Moseley, Bracknell, Rugby Lions and Bromsgrove. He has also had coaching successes with Sillhillians, Moseley Oak and Bromsgrove, taking Silhillians to their then highest ever league position. After some time away from rugby to concentrate on work commitments he is now enjoying guiding the next generation of rugby players as well as his children as Head of the Youth Section at Edwardian FC in Solihull, and now with us here at the Guild!

I am delighted to be joining ‘The Guild’ at this exciting time in their journey. When I asked fellow rugby people about Trinity Guild, I was told about their rich history as Coventry’s oldest amateur club and now after a turbulent couple of seasons I am excited to be here and help shape the rugby future of the club as we embark on a move to our new home with some fantastic facilities!

I’m looking forward to getting the boys back for pre-season, ready to work hard, enjoy their rugby and build memories with a squad to compete in the new league format this year. We start back with a team meeting Tuesday 9th July 7:30pm with training after

We are sure you will soon get the opportunity to meet Chris at the Club. He has already set out a coaching and training programme for the season and is keen to get started, to engage with the players and members alike to share his plans and approach for developing players, our playing standards and forging a strong team and Club spirit; based on success and enjoying the game.

The new season sees a major change to the league at our level, with a fuller fixture list and some interesting new clubs to play. There will be some good old fashioned away days and more will be announced on this in due course.

Meanwhile we are sure you will join us in welcoming Chris to ‘The Guild’; we have a great opportunity to draw on his experience to help us succeed in the league and to progress.

Training starts Tuesday 9th July 7:30pm prompt at Finham Park School with all players welcome, new and old and all abilities

Hope to see you there!
