Guild claim 4 points vs Rivals
Trinity Guild play to the best of there abilities to run out comfortable winners vs Copeswood
A strong Guild side welcomed Copeswood to Rowley Road looking to repeat the performance that gained them 4 points against the same opposition earlier in the season.
Guild started with a quick tempo which allowed them to set the pace for the game and control how they wanted to play. With hard work from the forwards in the loose allowed Scrum Half Jonny Hunt the chance to spin the ball to the backs quickly allowing the Guild to gain the upper hand. A swift counter attack from a quick tap penalty allowed Guild to gain quick yards and after a few quick phases Guild worked a 3 on 1 over lap out wide which allowed Fullback Sam Holt to walk over for his first try for the Guild. in the next 5 minutes both teams kicked penalties to keep the score board ticking over. Guilds momentum was clear though as another quick movement of the ball allowed another overlap this time taken by Ethan Fox who keeps his rich vain of form going for the Guild as he crosses the try line again. unfortunately he wasn't able to convert his try. At half time the Guild led 15-3
Copeswood started the second half with a desire to get back in to the game, which they did when they crashed over the Guild line to make the score 15-10 after the conversion. Guild responded well, turning over a lot of Copeswood ball Frankie Iaquinta impressed within the break down and in defence for the Guild. a Turn over in midfield allowed Sam Holt to hit a gap and go 55 Metres to cross the try line in the corner and give the Guild a 20-10 lead with his second try of the contest.
That was how the game finished. Strong defence from both teams prevented anymore points being scored.
Coaches Comments - Lads, that tempo today was brilliant. we took the ball and played our game. Created great chances and scored some great tries. Lets keep this momentum up for next weeks fixture.
