Trinity Guild RFC and it's bright future!

By Paul Beasley

An update on the progress and situation with the Club's relocation.

“As a Club that prides itself on being welcoming and family friendly, the new clubhouse and grounds will provide one of the best facilities in the area once finished.”

Due to the proposed Gateway South development near Coventry Airport and Baginton, Trinity Guild RFC has been in ongoing discussions and negotiations with the developers for a number of years now over the planned relocation of the Club from Rowley Road.

As of early March, the Club's trustees have finalised arrangements with developer and the solicitors to confirm the move, due to the commitment to start work on the UK Battery Industrialisation Centre on our site.

Consequently, the club has now signed contracts securing its relocation, with the Rowley Road site vacated as of 28th February.

As part of interim relocation arrangements, the Guild have moved to Finham Park Academy, Green Lane, Coventry. The Club are pleased to have been welcomed by the school, where a new temporary clubhouse will be installed, together with new training lights on one of the two pitches at the school. These facilities will be used whilst the new Ground is being prepared and Clubhouse built.

This is an exciting time for Trinity Guild RFC. We have already started developing some strong links with the school, and we will look to firmly established roots in the local communities on the south of Coventry, with the club committed to encouraging the widest possible participation in rugby in the local community.

As a club that prides itself on being welcoming and family friendly, the new clubhouse and grounds will provide one of the best facilities in the area once finished. We hope that this will also attract new players, for both Senior and our growing Mini & Junior sections alike, especially once the clubhouse at the school has been installed and the proposed development around the permanent site has begun.

During this building and transitional stage, the club committee will look to its current players, friends, parents and supporters to help share the ethos and aims of the Guild in what is a huge opportunity and another important step in the club's history towards its bright future.

Further updates regarding the relocation will be issued by the Club in due course.
